A biopharmaceutical bioreactor utilizes two proprietary enzyme catalysts, Catalyst X and Catalyst Y, to synthesize a monoclonal antibody. Each liter of Catalyst X produces 40 grams of antibody and generates 15 grams of metabolic byproduct. Each liter of Catalyst Y produces 70 grams of antibody and generates 20 grams of byproduct. To fulfill commercial specifications, the bioreactor run must synthesize exactly 3,300 grams of antibody while generating no more than 1,000 grams of metabolic byproduct.
Select the volume of Catalyst X and the volume of Catalyst Y, in liters, that fulfills the exact antibody production specification while satisfying the metabolic byproduct constraint.
